A few days ago, the tragedy happened in the Banha city, which took the lives of 6 people. At the entrance to the central railway station, the train with passengers plunged off the tracks due to the fault of the train driver, who was under the drug effect.
Right after the accident the local police detained the driver and his assistant. The expertise conducted, showed the presence of drugs in the blood of the driver.
“We are hundred percent sure that the train driver was under the effect of drugs,” the representative of the Central Laboratory of Ministry of Health of Egypt said.
According to the preliminary investigation, Ahmed Mohammed Hamid – the train driver - unreasonably exceeded the speed at the territory, close to the railway station. Officially, the speed limit on this section of path is 8 km \ h, whereas the train was moving at a speed of not less than 70 km \ h.
The check of the systems and the semaphore ownership of the station showed that everything was in the working state. The train driver is already accused in the negligence, gross violations of the job instructions and drug abuse.
