European Federation of Journalists

The European Federation of Journalists is a branch of the International Federation of Journalists. It is the largest organization of journalists in Europe, representing about 260,000 journalists in over thirty countries. It is headquartered in Brussels. It coordinates the activities of unions affiliated to the International Federation of Journalists in Europe with a focus on developing and promoting common interests in the fields of social, economic, cultural and media policy. Its aim is to protect and defend freedom of expression and information as well as journalists' human rights. The EFJ describes itself as fighting "for social and professional rights of journalists working in all sectors of the media.
